Prof. Michael S. Murillo joined Michigan State University in 2016, where he is a Professor in the Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering (CMSE). Prior to MSU, he spent nearly two decades as a scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, beginning his career there as a Director’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Theoretical Division. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Rice University in 1995.
His research spans computational plasma physics, scientific machine learning, and agent-based modeling of complex systems. For an overview of current projects, please visit the group’s Welcome page.
