Dr. Vikram Dharodi

I have joined this group in Feb 2017, working with Prof. Michael S. Murillo as a postdoctoral fellow, involved in the study of strongly coupled plasmas. I received a PhD vikram1under the supervision of Prof. Amita Das in Dusty Plasmas from Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), India in 2016.

My research primarily concerns theoretical and numerical modeling of strongly coupled plasmas.  Strong coupling exists in dense astrophysical systems, dusty plasmas, and ultracold neutral plasmas. Both, the dusty and ultracold neutral plasmas offer an easy and accessible means in laboratory to study the strongly coupled systems in a regime of moderate density and very low temperature. Presently, my research focuses on the development of computational models,  theoretical description and  technological applications of ultracold neutral plasmas. These plasmas offer a unique opportunity of understanding the interior of planets, white dwarf stars and, crystalline and liquid-like states of matter.
